U.S. researchers were able to grow hair on the skull of a completely bald man in eight months. For this experiment, the anonymous volunteer reported a fall of hair and patches of psoriasis. Then, researchers concluded that he was suffering from alopecia, an autoimmune disease. They tried him with tofacitinib citrate effective against another autoimmune disease: rheumatoid arthritis.
In 8 months, hair, eyelashes, eyebrows and hair over the body were completely repelled
The patient received 10mg citrate tofacitinib daily for two months then 20mg per day for three months. "At the end of the experience, hair completely pushed but also his eyelashes, eyebrows and all his hair", says Brittany G.Craiglow, one of the doctors participating in the experience. According to the researchers, treatment stopped the attack of the disease on the follicles allowing regrowth.
